BEDFORD – Hannah Magruder and Jaidyn Calvert both recorded hat tricks as Jeffersonville posted a 9-0 victory over Bedford North Lawrence during girls high school soccer action on Saturday.
The Red Devils (5-4-0, 2-1-0 in the Hoosier Hills Conference) rolled to a 6-0 lead at the half.
Elle Marble, Sian Rogers and Arie Sheckles contributed the other goals for Jeffersonville.
“The six goals were scored in the first half because we weren’t stepping to the ball on defense and gave them too much space, making it easy for them to set up a shot,” BNL coach Bret Roberts said. “In the second half, I had two girls get hurt and didn’t have any subs so we played down. We held them off until the last five minutes, when they finally scored their ninth goal. I was honestly surprised that we held on that long. They put up a good fight.”
The Stars (0-9-0 overall, 0-6-0 in the league) will visit Salem on Tuesday.
