Dale S. Duncan passed away peacefully Sunday, September 18, 2022, surrounded by his family after a 14-year battle with neuroendocrine cancer.
He was born on April 22, 1951, to LaVerne and Rozella Duncan. He was the middle child of the five Duncan brothers (Mark “Cotton”, Larry, Dennis, and Rick). He met his wife Bobbie Silvers, while working at the same supermarket in 1967 after he tricked her into giving him a ride home. They were married in December of 1969. They had three daughters Kimberly Duncan(Amy Weaver) Sarah Terry(TJ Terry) and April Duncan, who passed away 4 months after her birth from heart complications.
Dale worked at the Ford Motor Company(Visteon) in Bedford for thirty-three years before retiring. During his tenure, he completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Business Administration and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He loved playing golf each Wednesday, with his brother from another mother, Rick Vaught. He also enjoyed being outside watching his hummingbirds, tending to his tomato plants, and riding his John Deere tractor.
He was a man with a very strong faith and served the Lord with all his heart! He was a board member at the Assembly of God Church in Bedford and served as an elder/ deacon at Leatherwood Christian Church for over 25 years. He was also a member of the Bedford Stonecutters Class of 1969.
Dale was well-respected in every aspect of his life. If he told you he was going to do something, you knew it was going to be done. He always spoke the truth, even when it was hard to hear and he loved taking care of his girls!
He is survived by his wife Bobbie Duncan, and daughters Kimberly Duncan and Sarah Terry. Brothers Mark Duncan(Pam Duncan), Larry Duncan (Barbara Duncan), and Rick Duncan(Patsy Duncan) He was a “Pappaw” to Lennon, Gabriel, and Jude Terry.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Rozella and Laverne Duncan, daughter April Duncan, and brother, Dennis Duncan.
Services will be held at Day & Carter Mortuary in Bedford, IN. A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 22 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral will take place Friday, September 23 at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Leatherwood Christian Church Cemetery.
