MITCHELL – Laney Wilder was crowned the 2022 Persimmon Festival Little Miss Queen Monday night.
Feeling good and happy about her victory, Laney knows how it can feel on the other side. She wants everyone to know to not give up, and keep trying, and one day you can be like her.
“It feels really good, and I was really surprised to win,” said Laney. “I have competed since kindergarten and winning this makes me feel proud of myself because I kept working harder and harder for this. For all of the other girls out there, just keep trying like I did and maybe you will get the chance to win too.”
Norah Isom was named the 2022 Persimmon Festival Little Miss Congeniality and was shocked to win the award after her younger sister Charlotte won the same award in the Mini Miss Contest.
“I’m surprised to win. My little sister won Miss Congeniality for the Mini Miss contest and I was shocked to win alongside her tonight,” said Norah Isom.

- Princess – Harleigh Reeve
There was a total of 20 young ladies who participated in this year’s pageant, who were all lovely and deserving of the evening. Congratulations to all who competed.
