Michael J. Rollins, 62, of Bedford, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022, after a brief illness.
Born June 18, 1960, he was the son of Nancy (Bodkins) Carpenter and Charles “Bud” Rollins. He graduated from
Bedford North Lawrence High School with the class of 1978. He specialized in metalworking and welding, which
he continued for the rest of his career. He worked at SAMCO for 40 years, working his way up to supervisor. He
loved “Da Bears”.
Survivors include his partner of 25 years, Beth Scherschel; a daughter, April Rollins (Nick Leep); his mother, Nancy Carpenter; brothers, Scott (Arlinda), David, and Drew Rollins; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, paternal grandparents, Homer and Coletia Rollins; maternal grandparents, Russell and Margaret Bodkins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 23rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
