BEDFORD – Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident on Tuesday at 5:39 p.m. at the intersection of Boyd Lane and Stars Boulevard with possible injuries.
According to a police report, 17-year-old William Cline, of Heltonville was traveling east on Boyd Lane in a 2019 Kia Soul and approached the intersection of Stars Boulevard. He told the officers he was looking at his phone and trying to get directions to load and did not see the stop sign.
Cline’s vehicle struck a 2014 GMC Acadia driven by Tiffani Kurtz, 49, of Bedford, who was traveling north on Stars Boulevard.
Cline suffered an abrasion on his chest from the seatbelt and minor bleeding to his knee. He was treated at the scene.
Kurtz complained of left arm pain and minor bleeding. She possibly suffered a fracture but refused to be transported to the hospital by ambulance.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Jackson’s Heavy Haul.
Damages were estimated between $25,001 to $50,000.
