MORGAN COUNTY – The upcoming closure of S.R. 135 over Indian Creek, south of S.R. 252, has been postponed. The closure will now begin on or after Monday, November 7, to continue rehabilitation work on the truss bridge near Morgantown.
State Road 135 will close between Church Street and the south end of the bridge over Indian Creek to allow crews to remove the temporary runaround and bridge, complete milling and paving, and install a guardrail and storm sewer. The truss bridge is expected to open to traffic in mid-to-late November, weather permitting.
Traffic will be routed along the official detour route, which will follow U.S. 31 to I-65 at Taylorsville (Exit 76) to S.R. 46 (Exit 68), and back to S.R. 135. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions and use extra caution when traveling in and near active construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
