BEDFORD – The City of Bedford approved and adopted the 2023 budget Monday night, which saw five percent pay increases for City Employees and Elected Officials.
Included in the approval was the amounts approved for donation funding in Bedford for local non-profit groups, which saw a total of $207,900 in funding approved. The groups and amounts included are listed below:
- White River Humane Society – Requested $50,000 – $37,400 approved for 2023
- Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County – Requested and approved for $35,000 for 2023
- Economic Growth Council – Requested and approved for $50,000 for 2023
- Bedford Revitalization Inc. (BRI) Requested and approved for $5,000 for 2023
- Stone City Alliance for Recovery And Hope (SARAH) – Requested $25,000 – $12,500 approved for 2023
- Green Hill Cemetery – Requested and approved for $68,000 for 2023
It should be noted that the amounts for the White River Humane Society and Green Hill Cemetery are contracted services with the city. The final approval for these requests will be completed during the Bedford Board of Work meeting currently set for Monday, November 21st at 4 p.m.
