MITCHELL – The Mitchell First Church of God held a Christian Women’s Connection Conference on Saturday, October 15th, to share experiences and to grow in faith together through their trials, titled “Faith Can Move Mountains.”
The event had a variety of speakers, activities, lunch, and musical numbers, to highlight building faith through Jesus Christ and how to move forward through difficult times.
Gina Sullivan spoke on her path and the struggles it took to get her through to were she is now.
“Sometimes we are living so far away from God and we don’t even know it until the bottom falls out,” said Sullivan. “Faith is not checking boxes to ensure everything goes our way, it isn’t following all of the rules, or holding our heads right, or even saying things in our prayers that sounds good. The truth is faith is like standing in the freezing rain with a fan blowing on you, or like having wet hair in a snow storm, it is brutal at times because it is all of life’s circumstances and turmoil coming at us and daring us to stand.”
The women in attendance were treated to a variety of talks and comments from those who have faced difficult measures to get to where they are at now, to help one another learn how and when it is necessary to lean on one another.
