BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested Saturday when Bedford Police officers were requested to Taco Bell on 16th Street after a report of a physical altercation.
When officers arrived they were directed to the drive-through area. There, officers were met by a female and 65-year-old Timothy Louden.
The woman told officers she was in the drive-through in her Chevrolet Cobalt which has a manual transmission. She told police the vehicle was in neutral and she did not have her foot on the brake. She then heard a crash and felt her car move forward. She realized the vehicle behind her, a black Porsche Panamera had stuck her vehicle. She said two Taco Bell employees came out of the restaurant and told Louden to back up.Â
At that time the woman got out of her vehicle and she and Louden began to argue.
Officers took the woman’s statement, gathered her information, and advised her on how to proceed. The woman was then released from the scene. Â
Louden told police the woman got out of her vehicle and accused him of hitting her vehicle, but he didn’t believe he had, saying there was no damage to his vehicle.
While speaking to Louden police believed he had been drinking. Police say Louden was unsteady on his feet, had slurred speech, and displayed poor manual dexterity.
Louden failed several field sobriety tests. He was given a preliminary breath test and had a 0.25 percent blood alcohol content and was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and OWI endangerment.
