WASHINGTON – Entries are being accepted for the 2022 Daviess County Christmas Parade scheduled for December 3, 2022, at 6 p.m.
The theme for this year’s parade is “A Magical Christmas”.
The parade lineup will begin at 5 p.m. near Northeast 7th Street and Bedford Road. Float judging will take place during the lineup.
There will be cash prizes and trophies awarded. Entries must be decorated with lights to be eligible for prizes.
Categories include:
- Best Overall – $200 cash price and trophy
- Best Business/Commercial – $150 cash price and trophy
- Best Non-Profit – $100 cash price and trophy
There will also be a cash prize of $100 cash prize and a traveling trophy will be awarded to the best-lighted window display of a Main Street business.
In order to keep the spirit of Santa Claus alive and not confuse the little ones attending the parade the committee requested no Santas be in the parade. Santa will make his appearance at the end of the parade lineup.
Following the parade, Santa will visit with children at Home Building Savings Bank, at 200 Northeast 2nd Street. There will be cookies, candy canes, and hot chocolate available.

All registered and non-registered participants are welcome to be a part of the event to help kick off the Christmas season.
