BEDFORD – Lawrence Superior Court II Judge Robert Cline sentenced a Bloomington man to 2.5 years in the Indiana Department of Correction Thursday morning after pleading guilty to possession of methamphetamine.
Andrew Remmy, 37, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine, a Level 5 felony, as a part of a negotiated plea agreement.
According to the plea agreement, Remmy will serve 2.5 years of those three years in prison and serve the remaining six months of the sentence on supervised probation.
“This case shows the cooperation we value with our law enforcement partners,” Koucouthakis said. “The traffic stop that led to this arrested took more than 15 grams of methamphetamine that was packaged for sale out of the community. The officers involved did a tremendous job, using their expertise and extensive training to keep Lawrence County safe and to help this office get the offender in prison where she belongs.”
Remmy was arrested on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, after Bedford Police officers went to an apartment in the 1000 block of 16th Street at the request of the Indiana Parole Division to arrest a woman who was wanted on a warrant for a parole violation.
Remmy was at the apartment. In Remmy’s wallet, police found a folded paper that contained fentanyl and meth.
