EDINBURGH — A 20-year-old Edinburgh man faces a murder charge after he shot and killed a person on Thanksgiving.
According to the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, officers responded to the 15000 block of North Bluff Road on the southwest side of Edinburgh at 6:15 p.m.
When they arrived they found a male who had suffered a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. The man was rushed by ambulance to Columbus Regional Hospital where he later died from his injury.
Police have not released the identity of the deceased.
Damion Bryant, of Edinburgh, was identified as the shooter and arrested on a preliminary charge of murder.
“At this time the investigation is ongoing, we will not be releasing further details surrounding this incident at this time,” said Bartholomew Sheriff’s Department Detective Dane Duke in a news release.
