BEDFORD – Highway Department Superintendent Brandi Webb told the commissioners this morning that highway crews are ready when winter weather hits.
“The equipment is all ready to do and we have been stock-piling sand where needed,” she added.
Crews are continuing to do shoulder work on roadways and patching.
The sign replacement project has been put on hold.
“They are delaying the project until January 16th,” she added. “They are having a difficult time getting the needed materials.”
Webb shared some department statistics:
- Crews replaced 95 culverts
- Replaced 20 driveway pipes
- Chipped and sealed four miles of roadway
- Rejuvenated 25 miles of roadway
- Paved 31 miles of roadways
- Rehabilitated Bridge 138
- Removed 152 downed trees
