MITCHELL – A Bedford man was arrested Thursday on a meth charge after Mitchell Police received a report of a male passed out in a silver Impala at the Marathon station on State Road 37.
When police arrived they attempted to wake 40-year-old Joshua Early. Police say they found Early passed out with the driver’s side window down and slumped over. Police say it was raining heavily.
The officer wrote in the probable cause affidavit, he attempted to wake Early several times and was not getting a response.
The officer noticed a clear baggie containing three grams of crystal meth in the driver’s side door handle.
Early woke and was asked to step out of the vehicle and was detained. He told police the baggie of meth was not his. He stated, “fingerprint the bag and test it”.
Early was arrested on a charge of possession of meth.
