Newly appointed Lawrence County Sheriff Greg Day remains humble, yet vigilant in stepping into this role once the new year starts.

“I am truly humbled and super excited to get started,” said Sheriff Day. “I appreciate the folks who showed their confidence in me and trusted me to be their next sheriff. I wanted to thank Sheriff Branham for all the help he has been in the transition process over the last couple of months. It is all sinking in and getting real now. I am excited to get started.”

Amy Redman is ready to get things started as she fills in her new role with the Lawrence County Council, an opportunity she feels motivated to do.

“Those who voted for me in District 1 have put enough faith in me to let me help make our county better,” said Redman. “It is incredibly exciting and motivating that I get to start this journey with Phil (Inman), Janie (Craig Chenault), Rick Butterfield, and the Julies (Julie Hewetson and Julie Chase) to help bring in clear and transparent communication while setting common goals to male the county better.”
