BEDFORD – Tim Deckard was honored Tuesday afternoon during the Bedford Parks Department board meeting after serving on the board for 18 years.
With his term ending at the end of this year, Deckard decided to step away following his many years of serving the parks department. He was appointed to the Bedford Parks Department board under three mayors which included Bedford mayors Joe Klump, Shawna Girgis, and current Mayor Sam Craig.
Reflecting on his time served, Deckard shared what he was most proud of during his lengthy term on the parks department board.
“The most memorable moments for me was how we were able to keep the playground equipment up, and the remodel of the back nine at Otis Park,” Deckard said. “Most importantly we have kept the playground equipment safe for the children.”
Parks Director Jimmie Jones thanked him for everything Tim has done for the Bedford Parks Department and serving as president of the board.
