BEDFORD – A Bedford woman was arrested after police say she furnished alcoholic beverages to minors.
According to a probable cause affidavit, on December 16th at 11:57 p.m., Bedford Police officers were called to 1707 24th Street to assist Lawrence County Probation in reference to three juveniles consuming alcoholic beverages in the home.
All three juveniles were detained, transported to the police department, and issued summons to appear in court on a charge of illegal consumption. All juveniles were then released to their guardians.
The adult in the home was 36-year-old Heather Brown.
Brown told police she was asleep in her room while the juveniles were consuming the alcoholic beverages. She told police “she had no idea what was going on”.
A Lawrence County Probation officer requested charges to be filed against Brown.
The information was sent to the Lawrence County Prosecutors Office and a warrant was issued for Brown’s arrest on a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
