LINTON – Greene County General Hospital has implemented its own police department.
Chief of Police Bryan Woodall said the hospital has had a security force since 2013 but had trouble finding officers. Woodall has served as Manager of Public Safety at the hospital since 2013. He has served for more than 30 years in law enforcement.
Woodall says the officers can react quickly if there’s a threat toward anyone in the facility. These officers face many of the same crimes road police do, domestic disputes, criminal mischief, vandalism, and other crimes but their main goal is helping patients.
Six officers were sworn in at the hospital’s board meeting on December 20th. Woodall said four officers will have to undergo the training program, which takes about eight weeks.
