BEDFORD – Due to the resignations of Bedford City Clerk-Treasurer Marsha Pfeiffer and Marshall Township Board member Mike Holmes, the Lawrence County Republican Party will be holding caucuses for both positions on Saturday, Feb. 4 at Brinegar Hall, located in the Stonegate Arts and Education Center, 931 15th Street, Bedford.
The caucuses will begin at 1 p.m.
Anyone interested in running for either position needs to file at the Lawrence County Clerks/Voter Registration office 48 hours before the caucus date.
If only one candidate has filed for either position by that point, the caucus for that individual office will be canceled and the filed candidate will be announced the winner.
If no candidates file by that date for either individual office, the Party will make an appointment.
Precinct Committee people representing precincts within the City of Bedford will be allowed to vote for the Clerk-Treasurer vacancy and Precinct Committee people representing Marshall Township will be allowed to vote for the Township Board vacancy.
