BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested on Monday after a Bedford Police officer discovered he was in possession of drugs, as well as paraphernalia.
The man, 39-year-old David Thomas, was operating driving a moped with a female passenger on the back, when police said they pulled him over in a parking lot in the 1000 block of K Street.
Both Thomas and the passenger were asked if they had any illegal items on them, at which point Thomas told the officer that he did, police said.
In Thomas’ pack of cigarettes, police found a plastic baggie that contained meth. In the moped, the officer found a metal container that contained a glass smoking device, along with a baggie and cut straw that all tested positive for meth.
Thomas was detained on charges of possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.
The moped was picked up by a family member and the female was released from the scene.
