Bedford man arrested after argument over a phone call turned physical

BEDFORD – A Bedford man is facing a domestic battery charge after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On December 22, a woman arrived at the Sheriff’s Department to report a battery.

Brian Jones

The woman told police that 56-year-old Brian Jones was taking her home after dinner when his phone rang. She answered it and had a conversation with a female caller. Jones was upset when she told the female call on the other end of the phone that she had been with Jones for four hours.

The woman made attempts to get away from Jones by climbing into the center of the vehicle, however, Jones dragged her out of the vehicle. The woman fell to the asphalt causing an abrasion on her lower back, and bruising to both arms.

The woman signed a battery affidavit and the information was forwarded to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Officer. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
