MITCHELL – After victories in the November general election, Christopher Shaw and Krystal Shetler were officially sworn in Monday evening to begin serving in the roles as members of the Mitchell Community Schools board.
Shaw, an incumbent, retained his District Two seat, with 1,246 votes or 25.49% of the total number cast.
Shetler was elected to a District Two seat, replacing previous member Cynthia Brooking. Shetler received 1,799 votes, or 36.80% of the total number cast.
Both members were sworn in by Lawrence County Juvenile Referee Judge Anah Gouty.
During Monday’s meeting, Shaw was re-elected as president of the board. Board member Patrick Redman was re-elected vice president and Crystal Mikels was re-elected secretary.
