OOLITIC – Members of the Oolitic Town Council voted during a special session Saturday morning to approve pay raises for town employees.
The raises are for a 4% pay increase for employees, except for the crew of Zac Bell, Mike Collins, Chris Collins and Wes Tipton, who will receive 5% increases.
The salary ordinance specifies that raises will be retro actively effective back to Jan. 1 of this year.
The new rates will not go into effect until the Feb. 2 paycheck. At that time, employees are said to be receiving an additional check that will reflect the unpaid 4-5% increase starting from Jan. 1.
