MORGAN CO. — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor HIS Constructors is planning short-term stoppages next week at the S.R. 252 bridge over West Fork Crooked Creek in Morgan County. The bridge is located just over a mile west of S.R. 135 near Morgantown.
On Monday, January 23, crews plan to stop traffic intermittently for up to 20 minutes at a time throughout the day to complete the removal of a concrete structure. Drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route if possible. Stoppages are scheduled between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday.
State Road 252 is currently reduced to one lane with temporary traffic signals for a bridge replacement project that began last fall. The project is anticipated to be completed this spring.
The $2 million contract also includes a structure replacement project on S.R. 135 north of Trafalgar that reopened last year.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and consider worker safety when traveling through construction zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
