Mary Edith Bennett Lee passed away peacefully on Monday, January 23, 2023, at IU Bedford Hospital.
Born February 3, 1929, in Buddha, Indiana, she was the daughter of Ebbie Lemuel and Edith Stewart Bennett. She was the sister of, Herschel (Esther), Harold (Virginia), Lemuel (Jr.) (Joyce), Theron, and Burl.
She was a graduate of Tunnelton High School and a member of White River Baptist Church.
On March 9, 1952, at her parent’s home, she was united in marriage to Charles Daniel Lee.
Mrs. Lee is survived by two children David (Paula) of Bedford and Martha (Mark) Hill, Medora. Eight
grandchildren, Danie (Mark) Norris, Tiffany (Matt) Moody, Kasey (Doug) Franklin, Chelsea (Steve) Cassidy, Amanda Herzner, Evan (Amanda Jane) Hill, Levi (Victoria) Lee, and Jan Lee, fifteen great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was known as Momma Lee to Shannon, Derrick, and Holly Pickett.
Her husband, a son, and daughter-in-law, Curtis D. and Jill Lee, son Ralph Lee and a great grand-
daughter, Nora Moody, her parents, brothers, and two nephews Jo A. and James E. Bennett all preceded her in death.
Graveside services for Mrs. Lee will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28th at Tunnelton Cemetery with her nephews, Mark and Larry Bennett officiating. Pallbearers are Levi Lee, Jan Lee, Evan Hill, Bryce Bennett, Eric Bennett, Josh Bennett, and Tom Bennett. Honorary Pallbearers are Finn Lee, Pacer Norris, Mark Thomas Herzner, Maddox Franklin, Bennett Moody, and Daniel Hill.
The family asks that you consider donations in Mary’s memory to the Tunnelton Cemetery or Tolbert Cemetery in lieu of flowers.
