GALENA – Bedford North Lawrence’s Cole Baker won the 50-yard freestyle race during the Hoosier Hills Conference meet at Floyd Central on Saturday.
The Stars finished third in the team standings with 159 points. Floyd Central won the crown with 348, while Columbus East was second with 298.
Baker clocked 21.49 to touch first in the 50. He was also second in the 100 free (47.79).
BNL’s other top finisher was the 200 free relay team of Garrett Gabhart, Trey Kimbley, Isaiah Eicle and Baker (second in 1:32.56).
Double winners in the meet included East’s Misha Machavariani (200 individual medley and 100 butterfly), East’s Brady Beyer (500 free in conference record 4:37.75, plus the 100 breaststroke), and Floyd’s Jadyn Gomes (100 free and 100 backstroke).
