MITCHELL – A Mitchell man was arrested Wednesday after Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Lonnie Johnson responded to an address on Hollace Chastain Road after a report of a trespassing complaint.
According to a news release by Sheriff Greg Day, Sgt. Johnson located Dustin Collins, 50, of Mitchell at the home.
Collins had previously been served a no-trespass order from the property. During the encounter, Collins was discovered to have an active Monroe County warrant.
In addition, Johnson discovered the van that Collins had driven to the property was reported stolen out of Bloomington.
Collins was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Bloomington detectives were alerted to the recovery of the stolen vehicle.
Additional charges are expected, according to Day.
