MITCHELL – A community prayer vigil will be held on Thursday in Mitchell.
This prayer vigil is a communal lament, an act of solidarity, or a time to bring light to brokenness in society.
As an act of public witness, it offers the community a space to connect with God so that God’s vision for love and justice can be carried out through us.
Prayer cultivates an attitude of humility and acceptance and establishes a feeling akin to the community.
The prayer vigil will take place at the Mitchell City Hall Shelter House at 6:30 p.m.
Those attending will also pray for the two police officers, their families, the deceased, and the deceased family that was involved in the early Saturday morning incident on State Road 37 at the Sinclair station.
