INDIANA – Last week INDOT shared a video featuring Elsadig Ibrahim, who plays a key role in making sure I-69 Finish Line construction north of State Road 144 stays on track.
In the coming weeks, officials will be posting short profiles of other teammates who work in various capacities on the project.

Since breaking ground in Martinsville, showcased many of the talented men and women who are making this generational project possible. Including a steelworker, a special carpenter, bridge builders, and construction managers for INDOT and contractor partners. This has been truly a team effort.
INDOT also had a chance to hear from local elected officials about what I-69 Finish Line means to the area, a word of thanks to the crews from the governor, and some thoughts from the INDOT commissioner.
Constructing I-69 Finish line is a monumental task, and as INDOT mentioned toward the end of the 2022 Year in Review video, it has taken thousands of talented professionals to get to this point in the project.
As you click on the links above to get reintroduced to some of the I-69 Finish line crew, keep in mind that most of these were produced in 2020 and 2021. The project is rapidly nearing the Finish Line.
INDOT said thank you, as always, for motorists’ continued patience and safe driving in construction zones. This year will be another busy construction season, with a focus on improvements to I-465.
INDOT will have a lot more about the 2023 construction and maintenance of traffic up on the project website in early March.

Finish Line crews are expected to continue median work along I-465. Motorists should expect daily single-lane closures from the Mann Road bridge to U.S. 31/Greenwood exit and nightly double-lane closures between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Construction crews expect to begin removing the familiar overhead green exit-ramp signs (and support structures) in preparation for the future widening of I-465. Motorists should expect 20-minute nightly stoppages near the U.S. 31/East Street, Harding Street, and Mann Road ramps as crews begin to deconstruct the signage structures.
Motorists are encouraged to use mobile mapping apps like Waze and Google Maps to navigate during construction.

With springlike temperatures this week, earthwork to build the new I-69/I-465 systems interchange (adjacent to the State Road 37 interchange) in Marion County should resume as the ground begins to thaw. Once complete this interchange system will provide high-speed, high-capacity ramps from I-69 to I-465.
Beams for the Honey Creek bridge in the northbound lanes of State Road 37 in Johnson County are expected to be delivered and staged later this week. Watch for temporary stoppages near the Smith Valley Road intersection as deliveries occur to the work zone.
The actual starting date and duration for work and any closures may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen activities occur.
