INDIANA – The City of Washington will have two contested races in upcoming elections.
In City Council District 1, Republican incumbent Darin Lunsford will face challenger, Scott Rainey.
Washington City Councilman Jerry Sidebottom has announced his intention to seek the Republican nomination for mayor, he will face Mayor Dave Rhoads in the General Election.
All other open seats will be uncontested.
In Loogootee, Mayor Noel Harty will face a primary challenger on the Democratic ticket, Teresa Nolley. The winner will then meet Republican Brian Ader in the General Election.
Three Democrats will be on the ballot for Loogootee City Council at Large, and they include J.D. Flynn, Ronald Gilbert, and Lonnie Hawkins. Republican Buck Holland is seeking the Council at Large seat.
In the Loogootee General Election, the Clerk and Treasurer Seat and Council District 2 will have contested races later this year.
