ORANGE CO. – According to a post on the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Facebook page, the department has been made aware of residents receiving calls from individuals posing as officers, requesting them to send money via gift cards and other avenues for various reasons.
“The sheriff’s department nor any police department will randomly call citizens regarding needing money from gift cards. Please ignore these calls and don’t give out any personal information,” the post said.
