BARTHOLOMEW CO. — A man was arrested Friday in Bartholomew County following a vehicle pursuit when he crashed his vehicle into a pond.
Around 3:15 p.m. on a deputy attempted to pull over 48-year-old Benjamin Munn near State Road 46 and East State Street Friday afternoon. Munn initially stopped before speeding away when he was asked to exit his vehicle.

He led officers on a pursuit that concluded near the intersection of Taylor Road and Waycross Drive when his vehicle sled downhill into the lawn of a residence before crashing into a pond in the Sandy Hook neighborhood.
Munn was arrested as he exited the vehicle and climbed out of the pond.
The vehicle was eventually removed from the pond by the Bartholomew County Water Rescue Dive Team and conservation officers from the Department of Natural Resources.
Munn gained his felon status due to a voluntary manslaughter charge when he was convicted in Brown County in 2012.
Munn was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital for a medical evaluation and after being medically cleared was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on the outstanding warrant and new charges of resisting law enforcement, criminal mischief, and reckless driving.
