BEDFORD – Hoosier National Forest Supervisor, Michael Chaveas, announced today the solicitation of proposals for a concession campground and a recreation site special use permit (SUP) to provide high-quality service in the operation and maintenance of government-owned recreation facilities located in the Forest.
The new SUP will replace the current concession permit which expires on December 31, 2023. The new SUP will begin on January 1, 2024. The term of the permit is five years, with an additional five years that may be awarded non-competitively upon satisfactory completion of the original term. The prospectus will be open to prospective applicants until 4:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, on April 15, 2023.
The prospectus offers three developed recreation sites for concession operations: Hardin Ridge Recreation Area, Indian-Celina Lakes Recreation Area, and Tipsaw Lake Recreation Area.
Hardin Ridge Recreation Area is located in the Brownstown Ranger District of the Hoosier National Forest approximately 17 miles south of Bloomington, Indiana.
The Indian-Celina Lakes and Tipsaw Lake Recreation Areas are located in the Tell City Ranger District approximately 20 miles north of Tell City, Indiana.
The operator is responsible for all operations and maintenance of the permitted recreation facilities as specified in the prospectus. Potential applicants are encouraged to visit these sites to determine interest in this opportunity.
