Incidents – Feb. 17

  • 12:00 a.m. Report a transformer is on fire in the 1000 block of US 50 West. Huron VFD responded. The woods are now on fire. Marion and the US Forestry Service were also alerted. REMC responded after 4 to 5 live power lines were down
  • 12:41 a.m. Traffic stop at State Road 60 East and South 2nd Street. The driver was given a verbal warning for an equipment violation
  • 1:34 a.m. Officers made extra patrols on Kozy Fireplace Road
  • 1:38 a.m. Officers made extra patrols on the 1000 block of Mill Creek Road

  • 1:37 p.m. Fire alarm sounding at Shawswick School Road. It was a false alarm
  • 1:51 p.m. A male requested to speak to an officer about his stepson being on drugs and him growing marijuana
  • 1:52 p.m. Traffic stop at Mitchell and SandPit roads. The driver was issued a summons to appear in court
  • 1:59 p.m. 911 call at the Martin County line. The Martin County Sheriff’s Department was alerted

  • 2:17 p.m. Domestic fight in the 40 block of Wells Lane. The caller said someone was stealing parts from a vehicle, yelling, and threatening bodily harm. They also stole her dogs and have them locked up. The caller is locked in her car for safety with her children. The female was given her dogs and will come back to remove her vehicles

  • 2:24 p.m. Disable vehicle at State Road 37 and 29th Street. The vehicle ran out of gas

  • 3:52 p.m. A semi hauling a flatbed with a truck off balance traveling south on Yockey Road
  • 3:58 p.m. Citizen assist in the 2000 block of State Road 37. The caller said his neighbor has junk cars and a bus close to the road blocking her view to leave her driveway

  • 4:53 p.m. 911 call hang up at Doc Hamilton Boulevard and Meridian Road

  • 9:39 p.m. Property damage accident on Avoca Eureka Road. The vehicle ran over a tree limb
