MARION — IWU-National & Global is excited to announce a new certificate program in essential business practices, which will enable students to prepare for a business career and provide a pathway to earning an associate degree. The certificate, which takes approximately eight months to complete offers interactive, engaging courses, and all credit hours from the program can be transferred seamlessly into IWU’s Associate of Science in business.
“This certificate program establishes foundational knowledge of business practices, and it’s perfect for students who aren’t quite ready to enroll in a full degree program,” says Dedra Daehn, director of curriculum and operations in IWU’s DeVoe School of Business, Technology, and Leadership. “The courses cover key topics relating to business success, including personal financial management, business communications, management, software applications, and accounting functions.”
Upon completion of this certificate, students will be prepared for entry-level roles in banking, customer service, retail, and more. Students can also choose to transfer the credits they’ve earned into an associate-level business program to advance their career in such areas as accounting, finance, banking, management, and marketing, enabling them to pursue fields like project coordination and store management.
The certificate in essential business practices is designed to equip students with foundational knowledge, skills, and abilities to engage in a variety of business responsibilities. Courses include weekly, synchronous lessons with faculty members, allowing students to ask questions and get personal support from real-world experts.
