MITCHELL – A West Baden man was arrested on a warrant after an incident on Feb. 27, 2023, in the 500 block of West Oak Street.
Mitchell Police officers responded to the rooming house at 5:34 a.m. after a report of a verbal and possibly physical disturbance.
When police arrived they found 33-year-old Steven Bradley sitting outside on the front porch.
While officers were speaking to Bradley, another male arrived and appeared to be frightened. The male was taken to the officer’s police vehicle and spoke to the officer.
Police said the man was nervous and scared at first and didn’t want to speak to the officer. He then finally told police that Bradley kicked his door in.Â
The man was asked if he was scared of Bradley and the man said yes.
The officer then returned to Bradley and detained him. Police said Bradley became verbally aggressive and began yelling at the officer.
A female witness said she was in a room downstairs when she heard a door slamming. She then claimed she heard someone running down the stairs and out of the building.
Officers found the tenant’s door had been kicked open by Bradley, who then told the tenant to get out, prompting the tenant to run out of the apartment in fear.
Officers then attempted to speak to Bradley but he continued to be agitated, and uncooperative, police said.
Officer noted in their report that this is not the first time Bradley has caused a disturbance at the rooming house.
Bradley is facing charges of residential entry, intimidation, criminal mischief, criminal trespass, and disorderly conduct.
