GREENE CO. – Center Jackson Fire Territory firefighters battled a mobile home fire on Monday, March 6.
Firefighters were alerted to the blaze on Weber Lane in Lawrence Hollow at 11:50 p.m. Firefighters with the Monroe Fire Protection District and Beech Creek Township Fire Department also responded to the scene.
Firefighters were alerted that the mobile home was abandoned but when they arrived on the scene they were told someone may be inside.
Firefighters searched the home for the occupant but found no one inside.
When units arrived they noticed several fires burning around the property which included numerous trash piles, a boat, and the home.
A neighbor report the fire and also noticed a black truck and a blue car leaving the property after the fire was started.
The driveway to the home gave the fire department limited access because of the layout and terrain.
This fire is still under investigation while officials try to verify the owner of the property and speak with the subjects at the residence prior to the fire starting.
Also assisting at the scene were deputies with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and Greene County Ambulance Service.
Anyone with information about the fire is asked to contact the Greene County Sheriff’s Department at 812-384-4411
