Rose Mary Ball, 87, Mitchell, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Autumn Trace Communities in Bedford.
Born October 31, 1935, in Mitchell, she was the daughter of William A. and Rose Ann (Bex) Winegar. Rose married Charles Henry Ball on December 27, 1954, and he preceded her in death on February 16, 2023. They were together for seventy years.
Rose was a member of the Mitchell Church of the Nazarene. She was a homemaker, and she volunteered at the church and at Mitchell Manor. Rose was famous for her biscuits and meatballs.
Surviving are her son, Charles “Mike” Ball of Mitchell; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Her parents; husband; daughter, Sherry Pless; and siblings, Flossie Marie Sloan, Floyd Edwards, James Edwards, and Glen Edwards, preceded her in death.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Reverend Jerry Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
