BEDFORD – Hoosier Uplands Head Start is currently accepting applications for the 2023-24 school year for the Bedford, Loogootee, Mitchell, Paoli, and Salem Centers.
To be eligible for Head Start, the applying child must be born between the dates of 08/02/2018 and 08/01/2020. The family must also meet established federal income guidelines; or be receiving TANF, SSI Disability, or SNAP. Foster children are categorically eligible for Head Start.
Head Start’s comprehensive school readiness program offers nutritious meals, various educational opportunities, assistance with securing medical, dental and vision services, as well as, family coaching and goal setting. Head Start is a comprehensive program designed to support and help the entire family. All Head Start services are provided at no cost.
The number of enrollment vacancies for August 2023 is limited so; please call the center in your area to explore the possibility of your child enrolling in Head Start.
