Danny Dale Hopper, 72, of Orleans, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023, at his residence.
Born February 5, 1951, in Paoli, he was the son of Homer and Margaret Helen (Hopper) Harkness. He married Linda Melton on April 7, 1984, and she survives.
Danny retired from Carpenter Body Works after 25 years. He enjoyed coon hunting, shooting matches, and horse pulls.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Hopper of Orleans, daughters, Amy (Roger) Keith of Orleans and Shasta (Sam) Franck of Pekin; grandchildren, Lynnsie (Pat) Greenan, Miranda Karnes, Logan Cox, and Phillip Franck; great-grandchildren, Bella Karnes and Paisley Karnes; siblings, Doretta (Danny) Wilson of Paoli, Sharon (Dwayne) Benenfiel of Paoli, Margie (Garland) Delph of Paoli, Joan (Joe) Kelly of Paoli, Homer (Joann) Harkness of Paoli, Kenny (Machelle) Harkness of Paoli, Larry Hopper of Paoli, Steve (Julie) Hopper of Paoli, Paul (Deanna) Harkness of Paoli, and Darrell “Marvin” (Kathy) Harkness of Paoli.
His parents and siblings, Jimmy Harkness, Bobby Harkness, and Gene Harkness, preceded him in death.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 23, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Johnny Harkness, officiating. Burial will be at Mitchell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
