BEDFORD – A Bedford man is facing new drug charges after Indiana State Police troopers arrested him on an outstanding Lawrence County warrant for petition to revoke.
On Friday, March 17, at 7:56 p.m. the troopers located 27-year-old Devin Johnson at a home at 2760 US 50.
Johnson’s probation officer was alerted and she was en route to the home to conduct a search before Johnson was arrested on the warrant.
During a search of the home, police found a brown powder substance and a white crystal substance on a plate in Johnson’s bedroom closet. The substances were mixed together, and they totaled approximately 1 gram. These substances tested positive for methamphetamine and heroin.Â
Police also located a glass smoking device next to the glass plate and a syringe in the drawer of the bathroom vanity.
Johnson was transported to the Lawrence County Security Center where he was remanded to the jail staff on the warrant and new charges of possession of meth, possession of a narcotic drug, unlawful possession of a syringe, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
