SEYMOUR – On Friday, March 24th, Seymour Police Department officers and investigators responded to the area below the Burkart Boulevard overpass in reference to a body in the water.
When officers and investigators arrived at the scene, a deceased male had been pulled from the water by an individual that was walking to work.
The deceased has been identified as 37-year-old Wayne R. Gribbions, of North Vernon, Indiana.
Investigators conducted interviews and collected evidence from the scene.
A forensic autopsy was performed on Monday, March 27th. The cause of death is pending as toxicology results are not yet available, according to Lt. C.J. Foster.
