BEDFORD – The Junior Stars football program will host a player and parent meeting tonight, March 28 at 6 p.m. in the Bedford North Lawrence Gym.
During that meeting, parents and players will have the opportunity to learn more about the Junior Stars, which will provide students in grades 3-6 an opportunity to compete in tackle football this fall prior to being able to play in middle school. Players can also be sized for equipment at the meeting.
Coaches for the Grades 3-4 team and the Grades 5-6 team have been selected by BNL staff and have completed certification in Tackling, Blocking, and Safety from USA Football.
This program was created for those players that are still interested in playing tackle football in Lawrence County. The Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County recently made the decision to eliminate tackle football as an offered program at the club. The program is not limited to only North Lawrence Community Schools students and is open to students throughout Lawrence County.
The program will also be hosting a fundraiser dinner on Saturday, May 6 at 6 p.m. at Artemis Hall, which will feature dinner, two drink tickets, a cash bar, a 50/50 Raffle, guest speakers, and entertainment provided by 812 Party Productions.
