Police seize two grams of meth and drug paraphernalia during traffic stop

BEDFORD – Officers seized two grams of meth during a traffic stop on State Road 37 early this morning.

At approximately 12:20 a.m. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Bailey Duprey conducted a traffic stop along State Road 37 at Wesley Chapel Road.

He was assisted by Lawrence County Deputy Whitney Daugherty, Mitchell Police Officer Kenton Carter, and Oolitic Town Marshal James Harrington.

Indicators of criminal activity were observed.

Marshal Harrington deployed his canine, Deny Joe who gave a positive alert on the vehicle.

Sean Richardson

The driver of the car, 54-year-old Sean Richardson, of Solsberry, was found to be in possession of approximately 2 grams of methamphetamine and a glass smoking device.

Richardson now faces charges of possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.
