BEDFORD – A Marengo man was arrested after a Bedford Police officer stopped his vehicle Sunday for speeding on State Road 37.
The driver of the maroon Honda was traveling 75 miles per hour in a 55-mile-per-hour zone.
The driver was stopped on State Road 37 near 5th Street.
During the traffic stop Sgt. Faheem Bade noticed the driver 24-year-old Kyle Majors had glassy eyes and was sweating profusely.
Majors admitted there was marijuana in the vehicle. Canine Zazu alerted officers to possible drugs in the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, police found two plastic baggies containing marijuana. Inside a cigarette pack police found a baggie of crystal meth and a red cut straw. Police also located a metal grinder, two plastic tubes containing meth residue, and a box containing marijuana.
Majors failed several field sobriety tests.
Majors was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, OWI endangerment, OWI controlled substance, possession of meth, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
