Bruce M. “Mike” Brower, 75 of rural Bedford, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023, at 1:50 p.m.
He was born December 31, 1947, in Lebanon and grew up in Brownsburg and the west side of Indianapolis, graduating from Speedway High School in 1966. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, serving aboard the U.S.S. Valley Forge LPH8 and Assault Craft Unit One. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association and a retired UPS delivery driver, having served northeastern Lawrence County and the Chapel Hill area for nearly 20 years.
Mike is survived by his longtime companion, Teresa Blackburn, of Springville, his son, Toby Brower, and wife Jennifer, and three beautiful granddaughters, Madeline, Kate, and Lauren, all of Indianapolis, sisters, Sharleene Moore of Kouts, Kathleen Hamawi of Indianapolis, Donna Wadleigh of Speedway, Peggy Forrester of Billings, Montana, brother, Kevin Brower and his wife Sandra of Springfield, Missouri, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Evelyn and Donald Trager, his father, and stepmother, Bruce and Nettie Brower, sister, Nancy Anne McCoy-Halbert, great nephew, Wade Christian Rogg.
Mike requested to be cremated with no funeral services, a celebration of his life will be on April 16, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Bedford American Legion Post #33.
