North Lawrence Middle School Soccer hosting information sessions for families on Friday, Saturday

BEDFORD – Any middle school students in Lawrence County who have been looking to participate in an organized soccer league will have their opportunity with the recent creation of North Lawrence Middle School soccer, a team which will be comprised of seventh and eighth grade boys and girls from area schools.

Any students in seventh and eighth grade that will attend Bedford North Lawrence High School upon their completion of middle school are eligible to join.

Though not officially operated by North Lawrence Community Schools, the district’s board approved their support of the teams, including allowing them to utilize fields and equipment for practices and games during a board meeting in March.

The aim of the program, according to boys coach and director Brian Banks is to prepare players to compete at the high school level for the Stars.

“We’re thrilled to help grow the soccer offerings in Lawrence County with the addition of these middle school soccer teams, both boys and girls for seventh and eighth graders. So, the program will work hand-in-hand with the BNL men’s and women’s soccer programs to create a seamless transition from middle school into high school,” Banks told the NLCS board during his proposal for the program in March’s meeting.

Parents or athletes looking for more information can attend information sessions that will be hosted on Friday, April 14 and Saturday, April 15, that will allow them to learn more about the program, as well as ask questions.

The schedule for those is as follows:

Friday, April 14
