BEDFORD – A Bedford woman was arrested on a charge of criminal trespass on Saturday, April 8th after an IU Bedford Hospital officer was alerted about a female in the emergency room refusing to leave.
Police say 37-year-old Nicole King had been seen in the emergency room earlier that morning and had been discharged and “had no legitimate reason to be on the hospital property”.
Police say King was loitering in the hospital and “creating a security risk for staff and patients”.
The officer found King in the dining room area drinking an energy drink.
When an officer contacted King’s husband he was unaware of her whereabouts and told police that she had left to go stay at a local hotel after they had argued.
Police and a nurse practitioner made attempts to arrange for someone to pick up King but were unsuccessful.
King was given the option to leave the hospital, but she refused.
She was detained on a charge of criminal trespass.
