JACKSON CO. – Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Dave O’ Mara will begin work today on an asphalt resurfacing project on U.S. 50 in Seymour between Community Drive and Agrico Lane in Seymour.
Asphalt resurfacing will occur nightly from approximately 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Additional work includes repairs to manholes and gutter grates, and relocating signal housings through the work area.
The roadway will be reduced to one lane where work is occurring. The project is expected to be completed this fall.
The contract was awarded to Dave O’ Mara Inc. for $6.3 million in March. INDOT encourages drivers to allow extra time when driving through this area. Motorists should slow down, exercise caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones.
