BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested Friday, April 7th after Lawrence County Central Dispatch received a report at 12:35 a.m. that an RV had crashed into a house at 2366 Williams Road.
When Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrived they found power and phone lines lying across the roadway and a broken utility pole. The front of the RV was resting against the home.
Police say 54-year-old Bradley Endris was driving the RV. Another male caller told police he and Endris had gone to the boat in French Lick and then stopped at Rever’s Food & Fuel where Endis got into his RV and decided to follow the caller home. Endris had been drinking and the male tried to get Endis to just sleep it off in the RV but he refused.
The male followed Endis in the RV and told police he saw the RV swerve off the roadway and hit the home.
Endris admitted he had been drinking. He told police he was driving when a deer ran in front of the RV and he attempted to swerve to miss the deer and lost control of the RV and ran off the road.
Due to the severity of the accident and Endris’ injuries, field sobriety tests were not given.
IU Health Emergency Personnel treated Endris and he was transported to IU Health Bedford Hospital.
A blood draw was performed at the hospital and those results are pending. While at the jail he was administered a portable breath test with a result of 0.187. Endris was treated, released, and transported to jail on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
